On August 1st, 2015, 1pm–5pm, Zoom Gallery will celebrate the life and work of artist Alfredo Santos. Family and friends of the late artist will be on hand to meet and greet, and remember the man who touched the lives of many through his art as well as charismatic personality during his stay in Fleischmanns. Live music will be provided by Ted Finkle, friend of the Santos family and Manager at the Blue Deer Center.
Santos is well known for several large murals which he painted on the walls of the cafeteria at San Quentin Prison, for which he was lauded in the New York Times and LA Times as well as recent PBS television program. He followed this accomplishment working as an artist for the remainder of his life. Santos lived in Fleischmanns during the 1970’s and early 1980’s, and left a legacy of his work throughout Delaware County and beyond. A collection of some of these paintings and 3-dimensional pieces will be offered for sale.
